How has KS3 Maths Toolkit changed?

Matching the curriculum

Boardworks KS3 Maths Toolkit has been completely rewritten for 2008–09 and is mapped to the Programme of Study and renewed Framework across the Number, Algebra, Geometry and Measures, and Statistics strands.

A detailed activity browser allows you to focus on specific elements of the Framework and choose from a number of activities which can be used to teach them.
The activities are divided into four curriculum strands from the initial menu, making it easy to locate and choose whichever topic you wish to teach.
Printable teacher’s notes outline ways activities can be used with each year group and offer tips for covering every objective of the Framework.

Brand-new teaching material

The new material offers 21 fully reconfigurable activities, covering every topic in a multitude of ways and ensuring that you have everything you need to teach engaging and inspiring maths lessons.

All 21 activities can be configured in a multitude of ways, ensuring that the material is always appropriate for the ability of your students.
Many activities, such as this equation rearranger, offer a fresh approach to important and problematic topics, helping to engage and inspire students.
Pre-configured ‘quick starts’ offer a combination of useful settings from the main activities, to save you time and help focus your lessons.

New supporting resources

Boardworks KS3 Maths Toolkit now contains additional material to aid your teaching, including printable teacher’s notes, a detailed guide to getting started with the material, and a video guided tour showing the different ways in which the resources can be used.

A detailed guided tour presented by the Boardworks Senior Maths Editor helps you to quickly get to grips with the resources.
A Getting Started document covers every element of using the resources in a clear and concise way.
Help is available for every activity, accessible through the question mark icon in the toolbar.

Inspiring your students

The revised KS3 Maths Toolkit is packed with colourful, fun and engaging activities, guaranteed to hold your students’ attention and get the whole class involved.

Topics are introduced in a fun and colourful way to help motivate and engage students.
The wide range of tools available for use at the bottom of the screen allow students and teachers to easily interact with the activities.
Configurations for many of the activities allow you to completely change the nature of the task to bring mathematical theory into context.
