How has KS3 Religious Studies changed?

Matching the curriculum

Boardworks KS3 Religious Studies has been extensively rewritten to offer complete coverage of the current QCA suggested Scheme of Work. The resources also offer comprehensive coverage of the National Framework for Teaching RE at KS3 and the current KS3 Programme of Study.

New detailed learning objective slides help you to plan your lessons in line with the Programme of Study.

A comprehensive mapping document indicates how the material is matched to the Programme of Study.

The resources offer extensive coverage of six major religions, and encourage students to consider every issue from a number of different perspectives.

Brand-new teaching material

KS3 Religious Studies now contains over 200 additional slides and 74 new interactive activities. The revised material offers six new presentations: Muhammed – Seal of the Prophets; Islamic Beliefs; The Vihara; The Mandir; The Church; The Mosque; and The Synagogue.

Six presentations devoted to exploring separate places of worship fulfil the renewed requirements for the Scheme of Work.

New whole-class interactive voting activities encourage class discussion and stimulate student interest.

Assignment slides at the end of every presentation give students the opportunity to consolidate their knowledge away from the classroom.

New supporting resources

Boardworks KS3 Religious Studies now contains additional material to aid your teaching, including worksheets, a glossary spreadsheet and teacher’s notes. Every presentation starts with a learning objectives slide to help focus learning.

Every presentation is now supported by printable, editable worksheets.

Many slides include prompts for class discussion, or extension activities, indicated by the star icon in the top right-hand corner.

Teacher’s notes have been significantly extended and improved to offer additional teaching support.

The completely updated KS3 Religious Studies is packed with dozens of new interactive quizzes, games, whole-class activities and fun characters, guaranteed to hold your students’ attention and get the entire class involved.

All photos and illustrations have been significantly improved and updated to add colour to your lessons and enhance understanding.

Approximately one in four slides now contains interactive activities, indicated by an icon in the top right-hand corner.

Six families, each representing a different religion, are used to illustrate beliefs throughout the product, and come complete with a supporting character descriptions document.
