How has KS4 English changed?

Matching the curriculum

Boardworks KS4 English has been fully updated in line with the new 2010 GCSE specifications. The resources have been split into two separate products and are suitable for teaching all three qualifications: GCSE English Literature, GCSE English Language and GCSE English.

The resources focus on preparing students for Controlled Assessment, which replaces coursework in the new specifications.

The updated product is mapped to Level 2 Functional Skills.

Contains new units on the Spoken Language Study for KS4 English Language and new Prose units for KS4 English Literature, in line with 2010 specifications.

Brand-new teaching material

Boardworks KS4 English has been extensively rewritten in line with the new 2010 GCSE specifications with new slides added throughout the product. Each presentation has been split into bite-sized chunks to make the lessons more manageable and user-friendly.

Popular Prose and Drama units have been updated, alongside a wealth of artwork and animations.

Extracts are supported by linked texts, such as audio clips, to help encourage in-depth understanding of texts.

Updated Reading, Writing, and Speaking and Listening material explores challenging concepts in an accessible and appealing manner.

New supporting resources

Boardworks KS4 English contains additional material to aid your teaching, including brand-new learning objectives slides, tailored worksheets and an interactive menu system.

Clearly defined, editable learning objectives slides at the beginning of presentations help you to plan your lessons and let students know what's being covered.

Differentiated worksheets to cater for a range of abilities are included, helping you to adapt the lessons to the needs of your class.

More photographs, web links and contextual information support the study of novels and the revised English Literature assessment objectives.
