Free activity on investments and interest rates!
Can your students bring together ideas from different areas of maths to solve real-life problems?
Ideal for KS4, this activity encourages students to think of compound interest as a sequence, giving them a new perspective on a common problem. Students will calculate the growth of investments in the Boardworks Bank, using ideas on percentages, geometric sequences or exponential functions.
This activity is highly adaptable, allowing students to explore different methods of solving a problem. The activity randomly generates interest rates to investigate, making it ideal for repeated practice.

Free interactive activity on measuring circle area
This Thursday, March 14th, is Pi Day, an international celebration of the mathematical constant!
To mark the occasion, we’ve made available this activity on measuring circle area from our KS4 presentation on Circle Calculations.
The interactive activity challenges students to use Pi to calculate the area of circles when given the diameter or radius.

Free KS4 resources on formulae
From predicting the weather to putting satellites in space, the modern world relies on mathematical formulae. As such, maths students need to adapt to picking out key information from a problem and writing formulae to model those relationships.
To help teach this vital functional skill, we're giving away free resources from our KS4 Maths presentation on formulae. These slides guide students through substituting values into formulae, and then test their understanding by asking students to come up with their own formulae to model a problem. We're also giving away a worksheet and solution sheet to accompany these.
Download the free resources, the worksheet and the solution sheet by clicking the buttons below.
